Help Orange County Create Age-Friendly Livable Communities
With a growing population among residents ages 60 and older, Orange County has the needs of elders in several masterplans slated for updating in the near future. The goal is to expand support for older residents by weaving older adult programming into core services in order to help better serve a diverse community that works for everyone. To provide these exciting new communities, a response from the public is needed. The county encourages all Orange County adults to complete a 15-minute survey providing the information needed to understand what the community wants and needs. Access the survey here.

Valencia, Early Learning Coalition to Host Conference on Creating a Better Community
On April 21-22, the Early Learning Coalition of Orange County and the Peace and Justice Institute at Valencia College will host a two-day virtual conference on community resilience and overcoming societal challenges, including adverse childhood experiences. This year's guest speaker is Dr. Asim Jani, an epidemiologist and expert on community health. Trained at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, Jani holds multiple specialties, including internal medicine, family medicine, infectious disease and global health. Registration is open until April 20. Tickets are $100. Students and those with limited financial ability can apply for scholarships. Mayor Dyer's Annual Volunteer & Service Appreciation Reception
On Thursday, April 21, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Orlando City Hall, join Mayor Buddy Dyer and the Orlando City Council to recognize and thank volunteers and national service members who lend their time, talent, voice, and support to causes they care about in our city government and community.
