Marketing & Events Internship - Spring 2025
Do you thrive on finding creative ways to communicate on social media and building connections? Are you passionate about the vibrancy of Downtown Orlando? If so, the Downtown Orlando Partnership (DOP) wants you!
The Downtown Orlando Partnership is seeking a Marketing & Events Intern to join its team for the spring 2025 semester. As an intern at the DOP, you would assist the Communications Manager in developing and maintaining communication efforts for our members and the downtown community.
Responsibilities:
- Strategizing, planning, and implementing social media marketing campaigns.
- Lead content creation process such as photo, video, and graphics content to be hosted on our various social media channels.
- Perform social media market research.
- Assist in gathering content for weekly newsletter, social media reposts, member job listings and member/community events.
- Facilitate daily, real-time engagement with our social communities. Engaging with relevant brand mentions/tags from our members and community when necessary.
- Assist in the coordination and planning of DOP events.
Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in Social Media Management (preferred).
- Is passionate about staying connected to Downtown Orlando news and chatter.
- Must be a self-starter with an eagerness to learn and contribute to a nonprofit organization.
- Has the ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong written communication skills with a keen sense for grammar and spelling. *MUST include a cover letter with application.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other marketing programs such as Canva, Adobe products, Mailchimp, and Meta.
- Must be a minimum college junior or senior, pursuing a degree in Marketing Communications, or a related field is a plus but not required.
- Must be available to work in-person on site for a minimum of 5 hours per week over a period of 10 weeks.

Schedule:
Minimum 5 hour in-person workday per week over a period of 10 weeks. Ability to choose your schedule (within DOP’s 9am-5pm Mon-Fri business hours).

Golden Brick Awards - May 2025
The Downtown Orlando Partnership is seeking volunteers for our signature Golden Brick Awards; an exclusive annual awards celebrating the people, projects, and initiatives from the previous year that propelled downtown forward.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of the event
- Greet and register guests
- Usher attendees to their assigned seating

Downtown Employee Appreciation Week - September 2025
The Downtown Orlando Partnership is seeking volunteers for our annual Downtown Employee Appreciation Week; a free come-and-go event that rewards downtown Orlando’s dedicated workforce with a fun-filled week of incentives, daily giveaways, live music, employee discounts and much more.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of the event
- Greet and register guests for giveaway raffles
- Aid in maintaining a clean and organized environment
- Pass out marketing materials and giveaways
