Live Nation, the world's largest live entertainment organization, will open a new concert venue at the Westcourt mixed-use project in downtown Orlando.

The announcement was made by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer during Downtown Orlando Partnership’s Oct. 15 State of Downtown at Kia Center.

"We're proud to share with you that Live Nation will operate Westcourt's 3,500-seat entertainment venue," said Dyer. "This is a big deal. The venue will host a wide range of events including concerts, comedy, community events, corporate meetings, special events and more."

Construction on the venue will begin in early 2025 and it is anticipated to open in 2027.

In a prepared statement, Founder David Carlock of the Machete Group — one of two developers responsible for Westcourt — said the venue will be world class. Jordan Zachary, co-president of U.S. concerts at Live Nation, in a prepared statement said the multinational company is "thrilled" to bring more entertainment downtown, given what a vibrant market Orlando is.

This news follows Westcourt’s August announcement that it has added a Kimpton hotel to its first phase.

The hotel will feature 261 rooms across 11 floors, over 16,000 square feet of meeting space, a full-service restaurant, lobby bar, cafe, pool, pool bar and pool lounge.

Westcourt has been in development since 2011, with the Orlando Magic purchasing most of the land in 2013.

The project's first demolition occurred in 2016. In 2023, the Orlando Magic brought on San Francisco-based JMA Ventures LLC and Houston-based Machete Group as developers and co-financiers.

Now spanning 8.5 acres, the project was initially called the Sports + Entertainment District. In April 2024, its name was changed to Westcourt.
