Highly Ranked Academics Strengthened by Industry Partners
Selected for their ties to downtown industries, more than 20 academic programs are exclusively based at UCF Downtown. The Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy has ranked No. 1 in the world for four of the past five years and Homeland Security and Emergency Management has also earned a No. 1 ranking from U.S. News and World Report. UCF Downtown attributes their success to the support of industry partners whose involvement and expertise help enhance the academic experience. Because their students learn from the best in the business, they are better prepared for success in the workforce.

Downtown students earn degrees in business, communications, digital media, public service and health administration. The proximity to downtown industries places thousands of students within walking distance of career and internship opportunities. In fact, 91% of their undergraduate students participate in hands-on learning activities, including internships, research projects, and service learning, fostering a more engaging and effective learning environment that benefits students academically and professionally.

Unleashing Potential Across Our Community
UCF Downtown increases access for students, providing pathways into high-demand career fields. Since August 2019, UCF has awarded more than 10,300 degrees to UCF Downtown graduates–strengthening the region’s talent pipeline. But it’s not just students who benefit. Downtown faculty members serve as subject matter experts, partnering with community members, government agencies, nonprofits and the private sector to conduct research and help develop solutions to major challenges facing communities. In addition, the campus is home to two research centers that host conferences, seminars, lectures and professional certificates, all aimed to create positive change in local and global communities.

Live, Learn, Work and Play in Downtown Orlando
Opened in August 2019, the 15-acre campus is shared with Valencia College, and offers associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees and graduate certificates in the heart of downtown Orlando. Downtown students have a complete campus experience with student housing, multiple dining options, a library, recreation, wellness, volunteer and service opportunities, as well as an array of student clubs and organizations.

The campus serves as the academic anchor of Orlando’s Creative Village, an emerging innovation district with $700 million in development already invested and more phases to come. As a mixed-use neighborhood, students, faculty and staff benefit from a 2.3-acre park located across the street, as well as synergies with additional businesses located throughout Creative Village. Future phases of development in Creative Village will include a hotel, additional housing options and more offices.

Inspiring Students to Pursue Life-Changing Opportunities
Orlando has led the nation in job creation for four consecutive years, creating a thriving economic landscape. UCF plays a crucial role in ensuring that local students are well-prepared to enter the workforce, providing a clear educational pathway from PreK to PhD. That’s why UCF Downtown has worked for more than five years to establish a national model for an urban education ecosystem, collaborating with partners with the aim to ensure every child born in Orlando has the opportunity to earn a college degree. Through more scholarships and the expansion of support services, UCF is committed to offering every student the chance for higher lifetime earnings; more career opportunities; upward economic mobility; and longer, healthier lives, which will benefit their families and our community for generations to come.
