8th Annual MLK Concert
Experience the free 8th Annual MLK Concert "I Am Enough, You Are Enough, Together We Shall Overcome!", presented by the Orlando Mayor's Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission, on Saturday, February 18, at 7pm. Taking place at the Dr. Phillips Center, this stunning concert is produced and directed by Grammy Award Winner, Dr. Jeffery Redding, with Dr. Kelly Miller and Dr. Terrance Lane. Guests are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item, which will help support United Against Poverty. Donation bins will be available upon arrival. This is a first come, first seated event. MIDDLETOWN Opens this Friday at Fringe ArtSpace!
Join Fringe ArtSpace for the opening night of their play, MIDDLETOWN, on Friday, February 17, at 7:30pm. A Kangagirl Production, MIDDLETOWN is a deeply moving and funny new play by acclaimed writer Will Eno that explores the universe of a small American town featuring an all-star cast directed by Orlando Fringe Festival Lifetime Achievement Award recipient David Lee. As a friendship develops between longtime resident John Dodge and new arrival Mary Swanson, the lives of the inhabitants of Middletown intersect in strange and poignant ways in a journey that takes them from the local library to outer space and points between. Congratulations Rachel Moalli for being included in Orlando Business Journal's 2023 40 Under 40 Honorees! The 2023 class consists of 40 Central Florida young men and women who are age 39 and younger who are entrepreneurs, dealmakers, job creators and innovators playing a key role in shaping our local community. This year's honorees have stepped up into leadership roles in Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Lake, Volusia or Brevard counties, building strong teams, as well as going above and beyond in their respective positions and in the community. Join the Orlando Public Library for Wassalou, an Afropop band, as they present their unique talent to the North American cultural landscape this Saturday, February 18, from 4-5pm. Host a CareerSource Central Florida Sumer Youth Program Intern!
CareerSource Central Florida (CSCF), Florida’s second largest regional workforce board, is invites businesses across Lake, Seminole, Sumter, Orange, and Osceola Counties to sign up as a host site for their Summer Youth Program interns. The Summer Youth Program allows high school students (ages 15-19) to explore career paths, obtain specialized career training, and gain work experience with local businesses in Central Florida. As a host site, businesses will have the opportunity to provide guidance and mentorship to the interns and help shape the future of tomorrow’s workforce. This amazing opportunity is available at no cost for businesses, and CSCF is paying for the 5-week internship. The program is a win-win opportunity for businesses and our Central Florida youth.
