Creative City Project Names New Executive Director & Expands Leadership Team
Makers of Central Florida’s spectacular, innovative, immersive arts experiences, Creative City Project (CCP), announce the promotion of their Executive Producer, Melyssa Marshall, to the role of Executive Director. Not new to the organization, Marshall began her journey with CCP in 2012 as an assistant to the Founder & Artistic Director, Cole NeSmith, focusing on creating the IMMERSE festival which transforms 10 city blocks of Downtown Orlando into performance space. Ha’ani Hogan, PhD, completes the dynamic leadership team by joining as the External Affairs Director of Creative City Project. Hogan will focus on strategy, fundraising and development for Creative City Project, and brings more than 11 years of advocacy and community development to the position. Travel + Leisure Co. to Relocate Headquarters to Downtown Orlando
The world’s leading membership and leisure travel company is set to relocate its headquarters to Downtown Orlando. This strategic move will add over 100 new, high-wage jobs, bringing over 1,000 employees to the downtown core. Orlando City commissioners awarded T+L more than $6 million in incentives to support the relocation, underscoring Orlando's commitment to fostering a vibrant downtown business environment. Thanks to collaborative efforts by the Orlando Economic Partnership, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, the Orlando City Council, and the local and state economic development teams, Travel + Leisure Co.'s decision to relocate will further stimulate local businesses and inject even more innovation and talent in Orlando's urban core. OUC Proposing to Modernize Pricing Structures
The Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) announces a multi-year plan to modernize its electric service pricing structures and share costs more equitably. As the utility continues on this path to clean energy, these pricing structure changes promote efficient use of the grid while using advanced digital technologies and effective price signals that deliver community-wide value. Record-Breaking Orlando Pride Game
As the old adage goes, "records are made to be broken." The Orlando Pride did just that last Friday night as they took down the Portland Thorns for their eighth straight win. With that win streak, the Pride become the sole record-holders of the longest win streak in NWSL history. Now that the record is broken, the Pride will get every team's best game from here on in.
