DOWNTOWN BUSINESS NEWS Arthur Henry's Historical Marker Unveiling Yesterday, December 6, 2023, the City of Orlando unveiled a new historical marker outside the Wells' Built Museum in honor of Arthur Henry, a Black man who was lynched in 1925. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer welcomed more than 40 members of the Henry family, including Daytona Beach Mayor Derrick Henry, to commemorate Arthur Henry, a 35-year-old Army veteran of World War I. Mayor Dyer stated the importance of ensuring, "the stories of Mr. Henry and other lynching victims are never forgotten," and emphasized reflecting on the region's history to understand the impacts of the past at Wednesday's unveiling.
