Nominations Open Now For the OUC Hometown Hero of the Game
UCF Athletics and OUC - The Reliable One are teaming up to recognize individuals who generously give their time and talents to help make our community a better place to live. During the 2023-2024 season, they are encouraging Knights fans to get involved and nominate an OUC Hometown Hero of The Game. It is a perfect chance to thank and recognize our incredible active and veteran military, healthcare workers, firefighters, police officers, first responders, teachers, neighbor or civic leaders. FAIRWINDS Employees Give Back During Day of Service
Last Friday, volunteers from FAIRWINDS Credit Union spent the day expanding the school garden at Arbor Ridge K-8 School to include more garden beds and the addition of a fruit tree orchard. The project is part of a program by IDEAS For Us, an Orlando-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and accredited Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) of the United Nations, in partnership with the Orlando City Soccer Foundation to create sustainable infrastructure solutions to the community’s ecological issues. The garden expansion, funded by FAIRWINDS, will further enrich the lives of students in this community by providing experiential and hands-on life sciences learning which has a proven impact on their ability to retain the knowledge and use what they learn in their lives. Click here to see photos of the garden build and ribbon cutting.

Bike With the Mayor for Mobility Week!
Join City of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer for the Bike with the Mayor event! Kicking off the annual statewide Mobility Week, this leisure-paced, family-friendly ride is designed to promote awareness of our growing bicycle network while creating unforgettable community memories. Make your way to Lake Druid Park, located at 899 Coy Drive, Orlando FL 32803 tomorrow, October 27, at 7am for coffee, conversations, safety tips, and more. At 7:30am, join Mayor Dyer along with city staff and community partners on a 4-mile round-trip bike ride. This ride will take you through the historic Colonialtown North neighborhood and Audubon Park Garden District, including the brand new Corrine Drive quick-built pilot path. Learn more and reserve your spot today!
