2022 Special Olympics USA Games
The 2022 Special Olympics USA Games are being held in Orlando June 5-12 at venues across the region. 10,000 volunteers are needed to support the 4,000 athletes and 125,000 fans. Peppa Pig's Adventure
At the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts' new Steinmetz Hall, join Peppa on an exciting camping trip in the woods with George and her school friends, including Pedro Pony, Suzy Sheep and Gerald Giraffe. With lunchboxes packed and Daddy Pig driving the bus, Peppa and friends are excited about their outdoor adventure, full of singing, dancing, games and surprises. Life and Times of the Women's Rights Movement
On Saturday, March 19 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, at the Orlando Public Library, hear about the story of the fight for women's rights as told by one of the leaders of the movement, Carrie Chapman Catt, portrayed by Kathryn Chesley. The year 2020 marked the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment which gave women the right to vote. We’ve come a long way since this time and yet, we still have a lot more to do. As the president of the National American Woman Suffrage Association, it was Carrie Chapman Catt's work that got the last state to vote to pass the amendment. Dragons and Fairies Extended until March 27
At Harry P. Leu Gardens, a moving story centering around an adolescent fairy and her dragon friend unfold as live actors in beautiful costumes take audiences on a ¾ mile theatrical journey. Along the way, large-scale lighting installations, lots of surprises and nine animatronic dragons await. The Memoir Agency and Creative City Project have created a journey that inspires wonder, awe, and adventure, presented by Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies. Innovative Summer Youth Program Opens Applications
Registration is now open for 2,000 Central Florida teens to participate in CareerSource Central Florida’s annual Summer Youth Program, which rewards teens with financial incentives as they explore the region’s various college experiences, training opportunities and internships in multiple high-growth industries. All participating students have the opportunity to earn a minimum of $1,000 over the summer while they learn. Enrollment is limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
